I just got this great clip from Juan. He’s playing a beautiful version of “Estrelita” on his recently installed CCII pole piece pickup using Thomastik JS112s and plugged into a Vintage 47 Tonemaster amp with a 12” speaker. It sure works for me. I need to go practice now.

JD McPherson’s New Single: “Lucky Penny”
Since we were just in Nashville and had the opportunity to visit Studio B, it’s great to see JD standing on the famous blue X once shared with the likes of The Everly Brothers, Elvis and many other iconic artists. He certainly deserves to be there.
On the recording JD is playing his Smith guitar through a Havalina Germanium Fuzz by Way Huge plugged into his Dalek amp made from an old PA head.
The “Lucky Penny” video was released today and the new album “Undivided Heart and Soul” comes out Oct. 6. See JD McPherson’s tour dates here.
