Here’s a fresh swamp ash Roadmaster that features a few new items,

  1. A fixed cast aluminum tailpiece. I made a batch of these last year and I’m finally getting around to using them.
  2. New pickups I’m calling SV-1s, they feature plastic covers in cream, black or brown. Lacquer potted with slotted nickel fillister head pole pieces.
  3. And a new label designed by Chris Wilkinson. I’ll be using these in all of my guitars from here on out.

Sierra Ferrell Session

Last August Stu Hibberd asked if I’d like play electric guitar on this Sierra Ferrell recording. I was out of playing shape and almost said no. I’m glad I took the time to get in shape. If you’re unaware of Sierra you can check out more of her performances on Youtube. She’s amazing! I used my Special with a fixed vibrato arm into a Magnatone 213. Reverb was added later.

Magnatone 213

I fired up my 213 for the first time in a year. What a great little amp! Here’s an old youtube clip from 2016 that I haven’t posted before. My Special plugged into the Magnatone 213. Recorded by my friend Tom Almanzar.
